Mr. Velcro Fastener

The Finnish electro-group Mr Velcro Fastener was formed more than ten years ago by two school friends Tatu Metsätähti and Tatu Peltonen. Their similar interests in exploring electronic music led to two EPs released by their own label Tie Entertainment in 1998: “Wad EP” and "Robots 4 Life". These tracks were noticed in the genre and got many enthusiastic reviews all around the world.

After joining the German label i220 Music (ELP) Mr Velcro Fastener released their debut album “Lucky Bastards Living Up North”. Two tracks from the record were featured on Dave Clarke´s mix compilation “World Service” and Pete Tong´s radio play list. Tracks were also in heavy rotation in the underground electro scene by such DJ's as Keith Tenniswood of Two Lone Swordsmen. In the Spring of 2001, the "Lucky Bastrads" was licensed to the USA by New York based Statra Recordings. It was followed by the group’s first US tour.

After finishing their second album “Otherside”, Mr Velcro Fastener were collaborating with artists like Giant Robot, and Erlend Øye (of Kings of Convenience). Subsequently, Mr Velcro Fastener did remixes for Finnish pop groups such as The Crash and Maj Karma. Internationally, Mr Velcro Fastener’s work includes remixing techno acts Marco Carola and DK8. In the winter of 2002-03 Velcro’s project conquered the UK radio stations with the re-release of “Electric Appliances”.

In 2004 Mr Velcro Fastener returned to the studio to record their new material. The resulting album was titled “Telemacho” and was released in March of 2006. The CD was accompanied by two EPs: "The Flock", which included tracks from the album plus a stunning remix from Swedish top producer Joel Mull and "Čapek", which features a remix from Sasse.
