Uptown Rockers

A rap project that started as a DJ directed operation has grown to become a tight unit. Beats based in the Finnish soil has developed to a global group with featuring vocalists and influences from half a dozen directions. The result of the production process is proving that Uptown Rockers is step by step reflecting music with roots in Jamaica, North Africa and Asia from the Arabic beats and melodies to Indian elements.

This development has not diminished the role and strength of the original stars. It includes the powerful contributions of the Bomfunk MC’s vocalist B.O.W, the singing in Arabic, English and French of Momo Cat originating from Morocco and the extremely talented rapper Rigo of Infinitive Mass fame.The Indian and English female vocals are provided by Ushma Karnani. She has a history in being a part of the first Finnish popstars winning group “Gimmel”. Their debut album is the best seller of debut albums in the finnish music history. The upcoming debutalbum of Uptown Rockers will be a parade of unique music and a rainbow of strong beats.

The first CD single by Uptown Rockers with the song “Everybody Dance” will also be the premier release on the UHOtrax label.

The track fuses female vocals in Indian and rap in English. The featured rappers joining Ushma Karnani for this song are B.O.W. and Dj Francis. True finnish music industry heavyweights, who used to run successful soundsystems before B.O.W. formed Bomfunk mc´s.
